Cytidine 5′-triphosphate (Cytidine triphosphate; 5 '- CTP is a triphosphate nucleoside that serves as a building block for nucleotide, nucleic acid, and lipid biosynthesis. Cytosine nucleoside triphosphate synthase can catalyze the generation of 5 '- CTP from UTP. Cytodine 5 '- triphosphate is an essential biomolecule in the de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis pathway of T. gondii.
