Fucosidase Alpha-L- 1 Plasma, alsoknown as FUCA1 is a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 29 family which isresponsible for hydrolyzing the alpha-1,6-linked fucose joined to the reducing-end N-acetylglucosamine of thecarbohydrate moieties of glycoproteins. Fucosidosis is an autosomal recessivelysosomal storage disease caused by the absence of alpha-L-fucosidase activity.
