Description

N7-Methylguanosine-5'-triphosphate(N7-Me-GTP, m7G)is a positively charged RNA modification that is co-transcriptionally added to the 5′cap during the initial stages of transcription and prior to other RNA processing events[1]. N7-Me-GTP regulates the transcription, splicing, nuclear export and translation of mRNA, and plays an important role in gene expression, protein synthesis and transcript stability[2]. The N7-Me-GTP modification is also found in tRNA and rRNA, and its presence is associated with various diseases [2].
