TGFBRAP1 isrelated with inactive heteromericTGF-beta and activin receptor complexes, mainlythrough the typeII receptor, and is releasedupon activation of signaling. TGFBRAP1recruits SMAD4 to the vicinity of thereceptor complex and smoothes the progress of its interaction withreceptor-regulated Smads, such as SMAD2.
